Primary election choices

There is a big primary election coming up in May for Pennsylvania judges. I dug in and searched for information on the candidates. This is who I support. I would like to thank Bruce Frassinelli for clearing up my confusion on this upcoming election.

For Pennsylvania Supreme Court: Maria McLaughlin. Is currently serving as Pennsylvania Superior Court judge. Is the most qualified for this position.

For Pennsylvania Superior Court: Jill Beck. This court plays a huge part in how justice is carried out. Highly recommended by the Allegheny County Bar Association. Is a Pittsburgh civil litigator. She also worked on the other side of the bench for 10 years as a clerk and drafted hundreds of decisions for our current Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Christine Donahue (Summit Hill native.)

For Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, choices: David Spurgeon currently serves as Allegheny Court of Common Pleas. Served two decades as DA in that county. Is highly recommended by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Honorable Sierra Street. In 2013 was elected as judge for Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Is recommended by the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

There are four ballot questions and I will be voting NO on: No. 1 and No. 2 - questions on emergency declarations. Gov. Tom Wolf has not made unilateral, dictator decisions. He has consulted with other pertinent professionals (that’s group thought, decision) many times. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, disaster management people, disease and prevention people etc. He graduated from MIT (who gets in there?). He was voted in as commander in chief and leader for operations of our state. We don’t need the governor’s power taken away by legislature delays during disaster emergencies or medical triage decisions.
