Local Roundup: Results from April 27

Pleasant Valley’s softball team posted its first victory of the season Tuesday by defeating Pocono Mountain West.

The Bears also posted a win in girls lacrosse.

SOFTBALL

Pleasant Valley-PM West

Eve Kratzer had four hits ­- one a double - to help Pleasant Valley gain its first win of the season, a 13-6 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pocono Mountain West.

Kratzer also scored three runs and knocked in two.

Danica Getz contributed two hits, including a home run, and three runs scored for the Bears, who raced out to a 6-0 first-inning lead. Maddie Worden added two hits - one a triple - two runs and four RBIs.

PV (1-4; 1-3) also received a double and three RBIs from Samantha Ratti.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Pleasant Vy.-Moravian A.

Alexandra Bush scored seven goals, assisted on two others and finished with 13 draw controls to help Pleasant Valley roll to an 18-4 victory over Moravian Academy.

Eight different players scored goals for the Bears, who improved to 5-4.

Brielle McInaw contributed five goals and three assists to the win, while Riley Green and Julia DeYoung both added a goal and two assists.

PV also received tallies from Summer Storm, Brianna Shupp, Emily Shupp and Emily Butler.

So. Lehigh-Northwestern

Southern Lehigh rolled to a 21-3 victory over Northwestern.

Reese MacIntosh paced the Spartans with five goals and four assists.

Ava Collins and Ali Lister both had a goal and an assist for the Tigers, who fell to 3-7.

Northwestern’s Sarah Schultz also had a goal, while Emilee Schultz added an assist.

TENNIS

Blue Mountain-Jim Thorpe

Blue Mountain won all three singles matches in straight sets, and the Eagles cruised to a 5-0 victory over Jim Thorpe.

The loss dropped the Olympians to 9-4.

Northwestern-Saucon Vy.

The Palmerton boys and Northwestern girls recorded sweeps in a Colonial League tri-meet with Saucon Valley.

The Bomber girls and Tiger boys earned splits.

Faith Yost won three events (100H, 300H, high jump) for the Tigers, while Joshua Heilman (100, 400) and Caitlyn Miller (discus, javelin) both added a pair of wins.

Palmerton’s Emma Christman also earned three wins, taking the 100, long jump and triple jump. The Bombers also received a pair of firsts from Jonathan Perloni (110H, 300H), Kody Kratzer (long jump, triple jump) and Brody Muniz (shot put, javelin).
