Multiple fire companies are on scene of a fire that heavily damaged a building Monday afternoon on 6875 Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

The fire was reported just before 3 p.m. as a lawn mower fire inside a garage along Route 209.

A second dispatch reported the garage to be fully involved in flames.

When the first firefighters arrived on scene they found the lawn mower to be under the front porch with flames showing. The flames quickly spread inside the structure.

Companies from Lower Towamensing, Franklin and Palmerton were called to assist Towamensing at the scene.

The fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m. at the structure that was used as a UHaul/window tinting business.

Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident.
