The Carbon County Savages football team beat the Coal County Nightmare, 53-39, on Saturday at Recreational Park in Jim Thorpe.

Matt Wise caught two touchdown passes in the first half from Savage quarterback Brock Mitchell, who also hit tight end Damien Lewis for another score.

Wise caught his third TD pass from QB Dennis Odom in the second half.

Odom and Kwame Hall each had rushing touchdowns as Carbon County improved to 2-1 on the season.

The Savages’ next home game will be at Recreational Park on Saturday, May 8 at 1 p.m. against the NEPA Shock.
