A brush fire in Eldred Township is contained, with the assistance of a helicopter from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

The fire broke out Monday on Fiddletown Road, just north of Keystone Lane, and began moving up the mountain.

Fire departments on scene assisting Kunkletown Fire Company included West End and Polk Township.

The National Weather Service has issued a high fire risk warning for today.

Another fire was reported in the area of Spring Mountain Road in Banks Township between Route 93 and Weatherly borough. Check back for more details as they become available.
