SS. Peter and Paul Parish announces schedule

SS. Peter and Paul Parish, 260 N. Third St., Lehighton announces Lord’s Day Masses begin on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 7:45 and 10 a.m. The Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with the assistance of Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr.

Reservations are not being taken, but the church can safely hold no more than 75 people with social distancing, wearing of masks, and sanitizing practices in place. The parish hall (school building) livestreams Mass from church and can fit an additional 25 people.

Masses streamed

For those who are not ready or able to join us in person, each Mass is livestreamed on our parish Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/sspplehightonpa, and on our website, peterandpaulchurch.com, and is available later on our parish YouTube channel. The cry room remains unavailable, but we love the sight and sound of children!

Parish education

This year’s Parish Religious Education Program winds up with instruction and recitation of the Holy Rosary on May 2, followed by the May Crowning of the statue of the Blessed Mother at the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday. The doctrinal, liturgical, moral and spiritual formation of our youth takes place during the school year from 8:45 to 10 a.m. in the parish hall, observing all sanitary precautions. Contact Deacon Wilhelm at 610-377-3690 for more information.

Jewelry fundraiser

The new Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is holding a Jewelry Fundraiser now until May 22. Donate your unwanted gold, silver, estate, costume jewelry, including watches, cuff links, even broken pieces. Put all items in a bag or box and drop them in the marked container in the church vestibule.

Memorial Day Mass

The annual Mass for Memorial Day will take place in our parish cemetery on Fourth Street on May 31 at 9 a.m.

Pilgrimage

If any parishioners want to attend the Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 7, inform the parish office. Although we currently will seek to join with the bus of another parish, with sufficient interest we will field our own.
