Dear editor,

I believe the county commissioners and borough councils should work together to improve this county. Example: Panther Valley.

Summit Hill has a lot of empty store fronts and empty space. We could use a drugstore, grocery store, bank and game room for the kids, not to mention a business that could employ maybe 100 or so at a good wage.

Make it so people want to stay and work. Give the kids who are growing up a reason to stay and not leave.

The younger generations are leaving. There are no jobs here. If you want anything you must travel. These boroughs flourished at one time and can again. If the county or boroughs worked together.

This area could grow and prosper. The rest of the county (Lehighton, Jim Thorpe, Palmerton and others) is doing well.

Panther Valley seems to be forgotten.

We need your help. We don’t need ghost towns and parking lots.
