DUI suspects found in Monroe traffic stops

State police at Fern Ridge detail the following:

• A 26-year-old Kingston man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop at 4:57 p.m. April 13.

Police said they stopped the man at the intersection of routes 115 and 940 in Tobyhanna Township while he was driving a Hyundai Sonata that did not have a registration displayed on it.

Police saw signs the driver was impaired, took him into custody and transported him to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville. He consented to a blood draw. Results are pending.

• A 33-year-old Pocono Lake man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 12:15 p.m. April 11 at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Route 115 in Tobyhanna Township.

Police said the driver of the 1998 Honda sedan showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody.

• A 29-year-old man from Jamaica, New York, is facing charges of driving under the influence after a traffic stop for a Motor Vehicle Code violation at 10:12 a.m. April 9 on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township.

Police said the driver of the 2007 Chrysler was determined to be driving under the influence and was transported to the Monroe County DUI Center for testing.

• A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that was reported at 4:59 a.m. on April 17 along Route 115 near Meixsell Valley Road, in Ross Township.

State police at Lehighton said a 23-year-old man from Tobyhanna, who they declined to identify, was driving a 2009 Nissan Maxima southbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the road and traveled into the grassy/wooded area. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg. The Nissan was able to be driven from the scene.

Troopers said the driver is suspected of DUI and charges are pending test results.
