Projects get grant funding

Downtown Shenandoah Inc. in Schuylkill County, and three projects in Northampton County each received grant funding from the COVID-19 Relief-Supporting Elm and Main program.

The program provides financial help to community revitalization organizations that promote economic development.

“Over the past year, communities across the commonwealth have faced devastating impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, during which Pennsylvania’s network of community development organizations never ceased answering the call for help. Our Elm Street and Main Street programs work tirelessly year in and year out - even in the best of times - to improve their communities, and this funding will provide them with the support they need to overcome the challenges they’ve recently faced,” Gov. Tom Wolf said.

Downtown Shenandoah Inc. was awarded $50,000 for a SEAM project, the Greater Easton Development Partnership, $50,000 twice, once for a project titled Easton Main Street Initiative Support and the other for West Ward Community Initiative Support.

The Nazareth Economic Development Commission was given $25,596 for a Nazareth Downtown SEAM.
