Jerry Pohlod, daughter of Councilman and Mrs. Joseph Pohlod of 154 W. Ridge St., Lansford, was named Youth Queen at the inaugural ball held last night in the Lansford High School.

The program was held to note the start of Youth Week activities in the community when teenagers will participate in various affairs of government.

Runners-up who competed in the contest during the grand march were Vincianne Zavis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zavis, 337 E. Water St., and Jane Mallets, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mallets, 19 Jones St.

Jolyn Cipyak, who was last year’s queen, crowned Miss Pohlod.
