State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating the theft of a 9 mm pistol from a garage in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the Effort resident told them she believes the gun was stolen between noon March 17 and 9:59 a.m. April 8 from her garage on the 100 block of Dalton Lane in the township.

The Kahr model pistol is worth $500.
