Thunderstorms bringing hail, then cooler temperatures

Thunderstorms are expected Wednesday, bringing up to a half inch of rain and cooler temperatures.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms before 3 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. High near 60. South wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 7 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 34.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

Saturday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 59. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
