State police at Frackville reported on incidents in Schuylkill County:

• Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2010 Dodge at 1 p.m. April 6 in the area of 521 Altamont Blvd., in West Mahanoy Township. A passenger in the vehicle, Josue Martinez, 20, of Tamaqua, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody, processed and released. Charges will be filed.

• Troopers were dispatched to the area of 602 Gold Star Highway, in Mahanoy Township, at 12:51 p.m. on April 9 for a report of an intoxicated man. George Baucum, 52, of Girardville, was laying along the road. He admitted to drinking alcohol and had with him a case of beer and empty beer cans around him.

He was cited for public drunkenness and later released to a family member.

• Troopers observed Justin Kachelries, 28, of Girardville, in the area of East Mahanoy and West Mahanoy Street in Mahanoy City at 6:54 p.m. on April 3. Troopers knew there was an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Girardville for theft. He tried to conceal himself but was taken into custody. While being taken into custody troopers found him to be in possession of heroin and related drug paraphernalia.

Kachelries was later released to the custody of Girardville police for arraignment. Troopers said drug charges will be filed against him.

• Tyree Whitaker, 31, an inmate at the state correctional institution at Mahanoy, Mahanoy Township, was found to be in possession of a piece of metal sharpened to a point with a cloth/cardboard handle at 4 p.m. April 3. Possession of a weapon and related charges were filed.

• A 17-year-old male from Ashland was cited for an incident on April 11 at 1:47 a.m. at a residence along Centre Street in Ashland. He is charged with striking a 20-year-old woman, from Ashland, once in the left cheek with a closed fist.

• Police conducted a traffic stop of a 2019 Jeep in the 200 block of West Spring Street in Frackville at 12:15 p.m. on April 6. The driver, Shawn Cairo, 40, of Frackville, was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed.

• On April 13 at 6:25 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 1999 Toyota van with trailer at South Lehigh and North Lehigh avenue in Frackville. The driver, a 62-year-old man from Shenandoah, who troopers declined to identify, was in violation of a protection from abuse order with the vehicle’s passenger, a 37-year-old woman from Shenandoah, the protected party. He was taken into custody, arraigned before a district judge, and released on ROR bail.
