A Carbon County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 7:34 a.m. on April 9 at the intersection of Route 309 and West 23rd St., in Hazle Township, Luzerne County.

State police at Hazleton said Emily A. Heckman, 18, of Kelayres, was driving a 2016 Jeep Renegade southbound on Route 309 and failed to maintain the proper speed while making a right turn onto 23rd St. She took the turn too wide, troopers said, and struck a curb, causing disabling damages to the vehicle.

Heckman and her passenger, a 17-year-old female from McAdoo, were not injured. The vehicle was towed.

She was cited for the crash.
