Voting rights

Dear Editor,

Pennsylvania Republican legislators have introduced a number of bills to make voting more difficult. They claim these bills are simply to improve public confidence in the voting process.

Then why did Daryl Metcalfe, state representative from Butler County, arrange a group meeting with Kris Kobach to discuss voting “reform”? Kobach is the former secretary of state in Kansas with a nationwide reputation for backing restrictive voter laws. After his stint as secretary of state he lost two statewide elections because Kansas Republicans were so disgusted by his lies and antics.

It says a good deal about Daryl Metcalfe and his friends that they would bring in Kobach to advise them in their nefarious schemes to deny our voting rights.

Sincerely,

Deborah A. Smith
