On this date: April 17, 1963

Curtis L. May, Lehighton, today resigned as first deputy to Carbon County Recorder of Deeds Gerald Wentz. May has accepted a position with the Department of Highways as chief clerk in the Lehighton Highway garage.

The county board and salary board unanimously accepted the recommendation of Wentz in naming Marvin Ohl of Summit Hill to fill the vacancy created by May’s departure. Ohl had been serving as the second deputy. With his advancement to the first deputy position, Wentz appointed Mrs. Randall Rodgers, Lehighton, to the second deputy post.

The salary board set Ohl’s salary at $4,392 and Rodgers’ salary at $3,000.
