April 17, 1958 - Jack Vitek tosses a four-hitter to help Lansford gain its first victory of the season, an 8-2 decision over Freeland MMI. Vitek pitches shutout ball through the first five innings and receives plenty of support from his teammates. Joe Kralick gives the Panthers a lead in the second inning with a two-run single. Vitek helps his own cause in the fifth by also coming through with a two-run single. The winners also receive a double and run scored from Ron Swider, while John Pavalochock chips in with an RBI single and two runs scored.
