A state police cruiser from the Lehighton barracks struck a deer during a vehicle pursuit. Troopers said the incident occurred on April 6 at 2:34 a.m. along Indian Hill Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Trooper Mark Bower, 33, was pursuing a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed when a deer entered the road in front of him. His 2017 Ford Interceptor cruiser struck the deer with its front end. Bower and fellow trooper Charles Inserra, 40, were not injured.
