Tamaqua Police Log

Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents investigated by officers:

• On March 31 at 8:10 a.m. police were called to Tamaqua Area High School where a school resource officer reported a problem with a Joseph Coleman, 18, of Clay Street, Tamaqua. Through the course of speaking with Coleman, he began to get loud and used profanity inside a hallway in the school. He continued the conduct, drawing the attention of teachers. He continued this conduct down the hallway until he went outside in the street.

Coleman was cited for disorderly conduct.

• On April 6 at 8:40 a.m. police received a call from the borough code enforcement officer saying that Josh Schrepple, 38, of Tamaqua, had been seen at 29 Mauch Chunk St., taking off the condemned signs on the property. A person working across the street witnessed the action. While police were speaking with the witness, Schrepple showed up and was positively identified by the witness as the person removing the signs from the property.

Schrepple said he took the signs down because it was an invitation for people to take “stuff” from his place. He was cited, police said.
