Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin and County Administrator Gary Bender praised Neil Stefanisko, who died April 6, as a “consummate professional.”

Stefanisko, 46, was the chief adult probation officer in the Schuylkill County Adult Probation office. Baldwin said Neil’s death is “a great loss to his family and the community.”

“He was the consummate professional who gave everything to his job,” Baldwin said.

He said there was never a time that he didn’t do what was asked of him, often times going above and beyond what was needed.

“I could reach him day or night. He was just always on top of everything at his office,” Baldwin said.

Bender said Stefanisko was “wonderful to work with.” He last spoke to him April 2. Bender said his death at such a young age reinforces that no one is guaranteed tomorrow.

Commissioners noted his death at Wednesday’s meeting.
