Baseball/Softball Roundup: Results from April 12

Lehighton and Northern Lehigh both posted softball wins on Monday.

In other action, Pleasant Valley earned a baseball victory.

BASEBALL

PM East-Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley used a pair of five-run innings to cruise past Pocono Mountain East 13-2 in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference contest.

Jake Gethen delivered two-run doubles in both the fourth and fifth innings as the Bears (4-1; 4-1) turned a one-run game into a rout.

Zach Walters also knocked in two runs in the fourth with a double, while Jack Smale had a two-run double in the fifth.

PV received two hits and three runs from Dominic Payan, while Andrew Meitzler contributed a pair of hits. Walters finished with two hits and three runs.

Nate Mostosky earned the win, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out three.

Wilson-Northern Lehigh

Wilson scored nine runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 15-10 Colonial League victory over Northern Lehigh.

Zakary Kardos delivered a two-run double for the Warriors (3-4) in the sixth, while Brady Werkheiser knocked in two runs with a single.

The Bulldogs (0-6; 0-5) managed just three hits in the contest, but benefited from 12 walks and four Wilson errors.

Josh Kistler had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs for Northern Lehigh, while Jack Tosh, Cole Hausman and Brett Misera all scored a pair of runs.

SOFTBALL

Jim Thorpe-Lehighton

Mia Snyder had three hits and knocked in four runs to help Lehighton gain a 12-8 Schuylkill League victory over Jim Thorpe.

Mallory Valentine delivered a two-run double, and Alyssa Myers drilled a two-run triple in the home sixth as the Indians (2-3; 2-2) erased a deficit with a six-run inning.

Maggie Pagotto and Kendra Peterman both finished with three hits, while Myers had two in the 16-hit attack. Abbie Miller earned the victory, striking out seven.

The Olympians received three hits from Nadya Solliman, while Carson Rosenberger had two hits and an RBI. Christy McLean also chipped in with a double and two RBIs.

Jim Thorpe falls to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Wilson-Northern Lehigh

Northern Lehigh pounded out 17 hits en route to a 14-4 Colonial League victory over Wilson.

Kaitlyn Stock led the attack with four hits, one a triple, three runs and two RBIs.

Jordan Hemingway knocked in five runs with a homer and two singles, while Arabella Heintzelman added three hits, one a double, and three runs.

The Bulldogs (2-3; 2-3) also received two hits each from Haylie Fenstermaker, Bree Hess and Cadence Peters. Fenstermaker also scored three times and had three RBIs, while Peters scored twice.
