After a one-year hiatus, a crowd-pleasing carnival, along with a beloved youth athletic association program, are set to return in Walnutport.
Borough council unanimously agreed on Thursday to approve use requests for the Walnutport Playground Association Carnival, Northern Lehigh softball and baseball program, and Home Run Derby.
As part of its approval, council said they must adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, along with the proper waivers and insurance.
Brian Filchner, president of the WPA, said the carnival will run July 13-17 at the playground on Lincoln Avenue.
Filchner said the Home Run Derby will be held June 5, and added the softball and baseball program spans from April through the beginning of October.
The events were scratched last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
