A woman escaped serious injuries Saturday evening in a crash along Route 309.

The crash apparently started in West Penn Township and ended in Tamaqua. The woman was traveling north when she said she was forced off the road. Her car left the roadway entering the right berm climbing a grass embankment then hit a utility pole and guide wires. The woman was evaluated by members of the Tamaqua ambulance.
