A Schuylkill County man is facing theft charges following an incident that occurred on March 30.

State police at Frackville said the victim and the suspect, identified as Matthew Taylor, 28, of Orwigsburg, were to meet up for the sale of a motorcycle advertised on Facebook marketplace. The two met at 11:38 a.m. at a location along Tuscarora Park Road, in Rush Township. The victim handed Taylor $8,000 in cash to count while he was seated in a Jeep. While counting the cash, Taylor suddenly fled the scene with the cash without producing the motorcycle.
