Money damages

Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as a mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on a loans.

Wilmington Savings Fund Society, c/o 1600 S. Douglass Road, Anaheim, California, filed an action against David J. and Lisa M. Mazur, 31 E. Oak St., Tresckow, over property at that address. Sought is $28,995.57 and continuing interest.

U.S. Bank National Association, c/o One Mortgage Way, Mount Laurel, New Jersey, filed an action against any and all known and unknown heirs of Thomas C. Minich, deceased, including Benjamin T. Minich, Mary Jo Minich, both of 52 Butz St., Weatherly; and Meggin L. Minich, 329 6th St., Weatherly; and Samantha Minich, 52 Butz St., Weatherly, over the property at 52 Butz St. Sought is $69,214.55 and continuing interest.

Auto crash suit

A suit seeking damages has been filed as the result of an automobile accident.

Plaintiffs in the action are Heather Whitonis, of 219 Canal St., Lehighton, and Robert Stewart, 2209 Diane Road, Wall, New Jersey. The defendants are John Boyd, currently an inmate at the Quehanna Motivational Boot Camp, 4510 Quehanna Highway, Karthaus, Clearfield County; and Gemstar Enterprises Inc., 212 N. Seventh St., Lehighton, operators of Rubys Saloon, 298 Bridge St., Lehighton.

The suit states on April 7, 2019, Boyd was the operator of a 2015 BMW 328i that rear-ended a vehicle operated by Stewart with Whitonis a front seat passenger. The crash occurred along Interchange Road near Rock Street in Franklin Township. The crash occurred at 12:26 a.m.

The suit alleges that Boyd was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The suit further claims that prior to the crash Boyd had been at Rubys Saloon and entered in an intoxicated condition and was still served alcohol by the employees of the saloon in violation of state liquor laws.

Sought are damages for injuries sustained by the plaintiffs and which are detailed in the suit. Damages in excess of $50,000 are sought on each count plus punitive damages.
