April 2, 1980 - Lehighton sweeps Stroudsburg in a Centennial League track meet as the Indians receive multiple first-place finishes from four of their athletes. Rich Murray captures the 100 and 200 to help the boys gain a 104-46 victory. Jim Hauser wins both hurdling events, while Chris Slaw takes the long and triple jumps. Other winners include Dave Sherry (400), Larry Stern (shot), Tim Novatnack (javelin), Kevin Hunsicker (high jump), and Rick Semmel (pole vault). In the girls meet, B.J. Lacasse breaks the tape in both the 1600 and 3200 as Lehighton posts an 89 1/2-42 1/2 win. Also winning events are Cindy Rogal (100), Nanette Haldeman (200), Lori Rabenold (400), Kim Ziegenfuss (800), Donna Mertz (100 hurdles), Kathy Michalick (discus) and Lori Higgins (long jump).
