Schuylkill businesses cited for violations

Several Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the state police liquor control enforcement office out of Allentown.

Most of the violations are for failure to abide by the order of the governor and/or secretary of health about operating during the COVID-19 disaster emergency.

The following businesses were cited:

• Salute LLC, also known as Hang Loose Bar & Grille, 300 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, permitted gambling or lotteries, pool selling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises on Feb. 7.

The bar violated COVID-19 face covering requirements and served alcohol to a patron for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal on Jan. 22. The same violations occurred on Feb. 4, 6 and 7.

• Pocono Enterprise Company, also known as Mulligans, 316-318 S. Main St., Shenandoah, for face covering violations and allowing a patron to be seated at the bar on Feb. 13.

• Christopher R. Yeager, trading as Still Playin, also known as Burns Rush Restaurant & Pub, 655 Route 61, in Orwigsburg, for violating COVID-19 face covering restrictions, allowed a patron to be seated at the bar, and did not provide at least 6 feet between parties or physical barriers between customers where booths are arranged back to back on Feb. 20.

The restaurant had the same violations on March 6.

• C&M Entertainment LLC, trading as The Port Bar & Grill, 101 Jackson St., Port Carbon, for COVID-19 face covering restrictions, served alcohol to a patron for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal, allowed a patron to be seated at the bar, permitted patrons to consume alcohol and/or food while not seated at tables or booths, and sold alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption after 11 p.m. on Feb. 19.

The business was also cited for COVID-19 violations on Feb. 20 and 21.

• The Ashland Grille LLC, 309-311 Center St., Ashland, was cited for face covering violations, selling alcohol for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal, not providing at least 6 feet between parties at tables or physical barriers between customers on Feb. 7.

The business was also cited for COVID-19 violations on Feb. 17 and 21.

• Centre Street Investments Inc., also known as Pottsville Pub, 501-503 N. Centre St., Pottsville, stored alcoholic beverages on premises not covered by the license during the period of Feb. 15, 2020, and Feb. 15, 2021.

COVID-19 citations included face covering violations, selling alcohol to a patron for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal, not providing at least 6 feet between parties at tables or physical barriers and allowing a patron to be seated at the bar on Jan. 15, 16 and Feb. 11 and 15.

• Mazloom Inc., trading as Mazloom, 57-59 Valley St., New Philadelphia, sold alcohol to a patron for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal on March 6.

• Roman’s Lounge and Catering Inc., 101-103 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, served alcohol to a patron for on-premises consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal, and allowed a patron to be seated at the bar on Feb. 27.

• McGuire’s Pub Inc., 130 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City, was cited for failing to maintain complete and truthful malt or brewed beverage dispensing system cleaning records, during the period of Feb. 24, 2020, and Feb. 20, 2021.

Failed to clean malt or brewed beverage dispensing system at least once every seven days on July 8, Sept. 21 and Nov. 9, 2020.

COVID-19 violations included allowing a patron to be seated at the bar and permitting patrons to possess alcoholic beverages on the premises after midnight on Feb. 6.

The business was cited for face covering violations and allowing a patron to be seated at the bar on Feb. 20.

• Michael Kazman, trading as The Compass Rose, 10 Oak St., Frackville, was cited for face covering violations and serving alcohol to a patron for in a transaction that did not include a meal on Feb. 13.

The business was cited for furnishing alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption after 11 p.m. and permitting patrons to possess alcoholic beverages on the licensed premises after midnight on Feb. 28.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
