A Lehigh County man recently entered a guilty plea in Carbon County court to a driving under the influence-related count and was sentenced to a county prison term.
Justin Treese, 37, of Coplay, and formerly of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of driving under suspension - DUI related, third of subsequent offense.
He was arrested on Aug. 3, 2019, by Lansford police following a traffic stop. At the stop officers ran a check on his name and learned his license was under suspension for DUI.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II sentenced Treese to serve six to 12 months in prison, pay a fine of $2,500, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole. He was given credit for six days already served on the charge. The term runs concurrent with a sentence he is serving in a drug case.
His plea was done via video from the county prison. He was granted work-release privileges.
