Palmerton woman faces DUI charges

A Palmerton woman is headed to Schuylkill County Court to face charges related to drinking before driving.

Colleen Coscio waived her preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier’s office. She is charged with DUI-general impairment and DUI-general impairment/incapable of driving safely, DUI-controlled substance, combination alcohol or drugs first offense and reckless driving.

West Penn Township Police say she smelled of alcohol while talking to police after the Oct. 4 incident near the South Tamaqua Plaza. She admitted to police she was drinking earlier. Police responded to the West Penn Pike location for an accident with injuries. Several witnesses say the Jeep Coscio was driving hit a car.
