Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 9 a.m. is a traditional service and 10:30 a.m. is a contemporary service. They have four options of worship: in the sanctuary, in Leah’s Room (masks required), in the parking lot (FM 104.3), or Faith Alive-Facebook Live. This week, March 28, Passion/Palm Sunday will be observed.

The Holy Week Worship Schedule is:

April 1 at 7 p.m.: Maundy Thursday with Communion.

April 2 at 7 p.m.: Community Good Friday service.

April 4 at 6:30 p.m.: Easter sunrise service held outdoors.

April 4 at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.: Resurrection Sunday worship services.

ABC Food Pantry is collecting food to stock up the pantry for needy people in the community. All monetary gifts or food will be welcomed and appreciated.

The Mission for March is “The Gathering Place” in Weissport. Their mission is to keep their facility open for use by faith-based groups needing space to do their mission work, create outreach programs, and support the needy locally.

Living Hope Lighthouse Church

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, will hold Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. An Easter Sunrise service will be held at 6:45 a.m. on April 4. It will be held in the Borough Park Gazebo. There will be hot drinks and a light continental breakfast available in the gazebo. If the weather is bad, this service will be canceled.

Easter worship service will be held at 10 a.m. in the church.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) holds worship services Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Through the end of March, services will be held in the sanctuary with limited seating. Social distancing and masks are required. Supply Pastor Don Quayle will lead the worship.

You may also remain in your vehicle in the church parking lot and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 FM. The service will also be livestreamed on Facebook at 10:30 a.m. The service will be recorded for viewing at any time at your convenience on Facebook or the church website.

Holy Week Schedule is: March 28, Palm Sunday, worship is at 10:30 a.m.; April 2, Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m.; and April 4, Easter Sunday worship service will be held outside in the church grove at 10:30 a.m.

Class of 1970

The Palmerton Area High School Class of 1970 reunion has been postponed once again. Scheduled for April, the reunion has been postponed until Oct. 30, 2021. The location and timeline will remain the same. Updated letters will be sent out. RSVPs are not necessary unless that date conflicts with your schedule. Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) will hold Palm Sunday Service at 10:15 a.m. in the parking lot (no Communion). April 2, Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. in the parking lot. April 4, Easter Sunday Communion service will be held at 10:15 a.m. both inside the church and in the parking lot.

Palmerton Food Pantry

The CACPAC sponsored Palmerton Food Pantry will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, this Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The pantry supports residents of the Palmerton Area School District only and you will need to show proof of residency and answer questions regarding your income.

This is a drive-thru event, so please remain in your vehicle and follow the instructions given by volunteers. If you are unable to attend, someone may pick up for you.

The pantry is always in need of food, paper and personal care items. Donations may be dropped off at 459 Lafayette Ave., or 1002 Third St., Palmerton. Boxes are on the porches for donations. Local churches also collect on a regular basis.

BWC

Bethany Wesleyan Church, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton will be holding a prayer walk on Friday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This will be a guided prayer walk through the church.

Palm Sunday, March 28, service will be at 10:30 a.m. BWC Kids are invited to an Easter Party during the 10:30 a.m. service. Fun, games and much more. Children ages 3 to fifth grade are welcome to come and bring a friend. The party will be held in the BWC gym. Good Friday Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Easter Sunday services will be at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
