Worship services

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, has announced the following church service times beginning with Palm Sunday, March 28, with the service at 10:30 a.m.

Good Friday worship service will be at 2 p.m. April 2. There will be two Easter Sunday services, 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. You must sign up to attend church on Easter Sunday.

The final sign-up date is April 1. You must call the church office at 570-325-4255 and leave a detailed message which will include your name, phone number, number of people attending and the desired service that you wish to attend. If the service you desire to attend is filled to capacity allowed by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, you may be contacted to select the alternative service. You must wear a mask to whatever service you attend.

You may also listen to the church’s weekly 10:30 a.m. service which is broadcast over Station WLSH 1410 AM, and you can also listen to the service online by going to www.wmgh.com and click on the link WLSH.

Easter Bunny

The Diligent Fire Company will hold its annual Easter Bunny visit on March 27, beginning at 1 p.m. This will be a drive-thru event and you must enter from School Alley, which is located behind the Center Avenue company headquarters. The children will receive a basket and it is open to children up to age 10.
