State police at Hazleton are investigating the theft of collectible model trains and other items from a storage facility in Luzerne County.

Troopers said the storage unit is located along Susquehanna Boulevard in Hazle Township. Entry was gained by forcing a padlock on the unit. Taken were 100 collectible model trains valued at $1,000 each for a total of $10,000; along with 30 magpul magazines valued at $18 each or $540.

The incident was reported on Friday at 2:07 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
