Democratic bills a Trojan Horse of far-left ideology

The names on massive spending bills are often written to deceive and provide cover for power-driven politicians in the Washington, D.C., swamp.

Take the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. In trying to win over votes for the measure, House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s stated: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

The line seemed funny at the time but not so much today, from what we’re seeing from top liberals in congress.

The ACA had a loaded message. It certainly wasn’t affordable. Premiums soared in many states, and the law forced healthy Americans to purchase a product they didn’t need.

As for the “care” part, Republican legislators were warned by liberals on the left that if they opposed Obamacare, then they were for people dying from lacking health insurance.

Today we have Democrats pushing a $1.9 trillion American Rescue Act which they claim is much-needed relief from the COVID-19 pandemic, and that it targets public health.

Republicans argue that the “rescue act” is in name only. Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert tweeted that less than 9 percent of the stimulus in the massive bill actually goes toward public health spending.

The Biden administration countered that money to help education actually falls under “public health spending” and that pushes the amount to more than 20 percent of the stimulus budget.

What about the other 80 percent?

Democratic payoffs and bailouts to cities that have been run into the ground by liberal policies account for a chunk of the “rescue” pie.

Another mistitled measure, H.R. 1 or For the People Act, is House Speaker Pelosi’s signature piece of legislation. Democrats state that the legislation is designed “to expand Americans’ access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, strengthen ethics rules for public servants, and implement other anti-corruption measures for the purpose of fortifying our democracy, and for other purposes.”

The “other purposes” should raise red flags.

Republican conservatives say the bill is very dangerous since it transfers massive amounts of elections-related power from the states to the federal government, thus destroying election laws and fundamental freedoms of citizens.

Two conservative organizations - The Association of Mature American Citizens and The Heritage Foundation - are working to block the bill from ever becoming law, calling it “a monstrous federal takeover of elections and an assault on the First Amendment.”

Heritage Action, a component of The Heritage Foundation, states that the bill is ANYTHING but “for the people.” It’s loaded with unconstitutional and unnecessary policies that liberals want to use to further hijack America’s election processes.

Tucker Carlson, a political commentator for FOX, recently warned that the For the People Act is the foundation of the Democratic Party strategy to control the federal government well into our grandchildren’s middle age.

The bill strips the power of state governments to regulate their own congressional district lines by forcing independent redistricting commissions on states, thus replacing elected representatives with unelected, unaccountable, redistricting bureaucrats.

H.R. 1 would also undermine the separation of powers, which prevents any one body from assuming tyrannical powers over the American people. If passed, H.R. 1 would allow Congress to create a commission to determine a “code of conduct” for judges of the Supreme Court. Carlson says this is a transparent attempt to start a bogus impeachment campaign against new Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The ultimate goal is to help liberals win elections and to fund, elect and maintain liberals in Congress.

On Wednesday, the House passed H.R. 1 on a near party-line 220-210 vote. It now advances to the Senate.

Last week, House Democrats - on a 224-206 vote - passed the “Equality Act” which they claim will protect people from being discriminated based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Opposing conservatives say the bill would force women and girls to share private spaces with men, and result in men participating in women’s sports if they identify as female.

The religious community also says it sabotages religious freedom by discriminating against mosques, churches and religious organizations for their deeply held religious beliefs.

We need conservative voices who aren’t afraid to expose the dangers hidden in these Democratic bills. The American Rescue Plan, For the People Act and Equality Act, may sound patriotic or pro individual rights on the outside but in reality they are a Trojan Horse for leftist spending and ideology.
