Pa. reports 3,570 two-day total
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Monday that there were 1,628 additional positive cases of COVID-19, in addition to 1,945 new cases reported Sunday, Feb. 28, for a two-day total of 3,573 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 933,270.
There are 1,720 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 374 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of Feb. 19-25 stood at 6.3%.
As of 11:59 p.m. Saturday, there were 21 new deaths and as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, there were five new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 24,026 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Local vaccine numbers
Carbon County reported Monday that 4,053 people are partially covered, while 4,909 are fully covered.
Lehigh reported 30,626 partially, 33,946 fully.
Luzerne has 28,875 partially, 27,825 fully covered.
Monroe reported 7,182 fully, 7,440 fully.
Northampton has 29,2375 partially covered, 27,158 fully.
Schuylkill reported 10,726 partially, 10,062 fully.
Pennsylvania residents ages 65-69 are most partially covered (149,921) by vaccine to date. Ages 55-59 (60,180) and 60-64 (62,083), according to a DOH chart, are the age groups most fully covered.

• 366,376 male residents are partially covered, 210,101 are fully covered.
• 524,480 females partially covered, 414,334 fully covered.
Local COVID-19 numbers
Carbon County reported 4,885 cases, four more since Sunday. Deaths remain at 151.
Lehigh reported 30811 cases, 56 more since Sunday. Six more deaths were reported for a total of 761.
Luzerne County reported 23 more cases since Sunday for a total of 24,928. Six more deaths were reported for a total of 730.
Monroe reported 9,679, an increase of 23 since Sunday. Deaths remain at 266.
Northampton reported a total of 26,855, an increase of 41. Five more deaths were reported for a total of 644.
Schuylkill County reported 12,042 cases, 15 more since Sunday. One more death was reported for a total of 368.

Carbon County has eight facilities with cases.
Lehigh reported 42 facilities with cases.
Luzerne County reported 49 venues with cases.
Monroe has 11 facilities with cases.
Northampton reported 39 facilities with cases.
Schuylkill reported 19 facilities with cases.
