Lehighton State Police report on DUI cases

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers:

• On Feb. 18 at 2:48 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, at Seneca Road, in Mahoning Township. It was determined that the driver, a 21-year-old man from Jim Thorpe was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Troopers said DUI charges are pending test results.

• On Feb. 17 at 2:29 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 1997 Subaru Outback along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, at Forge and Allen streets, Lehighton. The driver, a 24-year-old man from New Ringgold was found to be under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance. Further investigation revealed he was in possession of a controlled substance and a prohibited weapon. He was taken into custody and transported for a chemical test. Charges are pending the test results.

• Police said a 2007 Pontiac G6 was stopped about 3:28 a.m. on Feb. 24 along Blue Mountain Road at Ashfield Road in East Penn Township. The driver, a 21-year-old man from Lehighton was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The man refused to submit to any type of testing. Charges will be filed.

Police did not identify the suspects.
