Tamaqua Area School District is closed today and the Schuylkill County Government offices will open at 9:30 a.m., but Schuylkill County was spared a lot of snow.
“We didn’t get much. It didn’t snow here in a couple hours,” John Matz, Schuylkill County Emergency Management Coordinator, said at 2:45 p.m.
Matz estimated 1 to 2 inches fell in Pottsville after it started at 7 a.m.
“It wasn’t too big of a deal here,” he said.
Roads are clear for the most part of snow, Matz said.
The National Weather Service State College originally predicted 5 inches of snow from the storm.
