Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 9 a.m. is a traditional service and 10:30 is a contemporary service. The options of worship remain: In the sanctuary, in Leah’s Room (masks required), in the parking lot (FM 104.3), or Faith Alive-Facebook Live. In the event of inclement weather, the delays or cancellations will appear on Channel 69 News WFMZ.

Men’s Bible study is held each Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Adult Bible study is held each Thursday at 2 p.m.

New Bible study with DVD “Anxious for Nothing” is planned. Sign up now and the studies will begin Feb. 24 at 12:30 p.m., or 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The Youth Group “Impact” will meet Feb. 21.

The ABC Food Pantry is collecting canned goods to stock up the pantry for needy people in the community.

The Mission for February is Red Bird Missionary Conference. It provides education and Christian evangelism ministries and community outreach.

Breakfast

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, OJ, coffee, tea and milk. Masks are required upon entering and moving about the building.

Borough council

A regular meeting of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

Haluski sale

St. John Neumann Regional School, 243 Lafayette Ave., is holding a first Friday of Lent haluski sale on Feb. 19 from 1-6 p.m. It is sponsored by the Catholic Slovak Ladies. There is no need to preorder. Just pick up at the school. The haluski is being sold by the pint or quart.

St. John Neumann basket social

St. John Neumann Regional School, Lafayette Avenue, is holding its 24th annual basket social on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. There will be over 100 baskets, plus special classroom baskets. The kitchen will be open with food available to go. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the drawing at 1:30 p.m. Sunday will be virtual.

Good Friday fish fry

The 32nd annual Good Friday fish fry will be held this year. The fish fry held by the Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Co., 270 Little Gap Road, Palmerton, will be held April 2. This will be a drive-thru event for ticket holders only. You must purchase a ticket by March 22. Tickets will not be sold the day of the event. To get your ticket, please see a member of the fire company or visit the station the following days and times: Fridays or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m.

CACPAC food pantry

In addition to canned good items, the food pantry is collecting toiletries and personal care items for the next food pantry distribution scheduled for Feb. 26. Please leave your donations at 459 Lafayette Ave., or 1002 Third St., Palmerton. Boxes are on their porches for the items. Most area churches also collect for the pantry.
