State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on two incidents investigated by troopers. In each case troopers declined to identify the suspects.

• On Feb. 5 at 1:42 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop along Ben Salem Road at Church Hill Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County, of a 1992 Subaru Legacy. Troopers said the 41-year-old male driver from Lehighton had a suspended license - DUI related, and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and refused to submit to testing. Police said charges will be filed.

• On Feb. 6 at 12:16 a.m. a traffic stop was made along Route 248 in Franklin Township, Carbon County, of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. The driver, a 42-year-old man from Whitehall, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A further investigation revealed he was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He refused to submit to testing. Charges were filed.
