State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• On Feb. 8 at 3:18 p.m. troopers were at a residence along West Lizard Creek Road at Malaty Lane, in East Penn Township, Carbon County, assisting state parole officers with an arrest. The suspect was identified as Rodney Rider, 39, of Bowmanstown. Illegal substances and drug paraphernalia were found in the residence. Rider was taken into custody by the parole officers. Troopers to file drug charges against Rider.

• On Feb. 11 at 2:17 a.m. troopers responded to a residence along Cottontail Lane at Route 715, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a domestic incident.

On scene Laura Chechel, 41, of Brodheadsville, related that Anthony Ricciuti, 27, of Brodheadsville, became upset after he was “snooping” through her phone. A wrestling match ensued inside the residence which ended up outside in the snow, troopers said. Ricciuti left the scene prior to the arrival of troopers. No injuries were reported.

As a result both Chechel and Ricciuti will be charged with harassment - physical contact.

• On Feb. 8 at 4:11 a.m. a vehicle stop was made along Route 248 at Lehigh Drive, in Bowmanstown, Carbon County. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Slatedale, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. He refused a test. Charges will be filed. Troopers did not identify the suspect.

• On Feb. 7 at 2:19 a.m. a vehicle stop was made in the 700 block of East Lizard Creek Road in Bowmanstown. The driver, a 52-year-old man from Bowmanstown, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending test results.

• On Feb. 6 at 12:41 a.m. at Ruby Court, in Ross Township, Monroe County, a 56-year-old woman from Saylorsburg, threatened and verbally harassed a 21-year-old man from Saylorsburg. Troopers indicated the suspect was charged with terroristic threats.

Police did not identify the suspects in the traffic stops or the harassment case.
