D-11 announces PPL Center will host portions of basketball tournament

District 11 announced on Friday that the PPL Center in Allentown will play host to a portion of this season’s basketball tournament.

Games are scheduled to be played at the PPL Center on Monday, March 8, Tuesday, March 9, and Thursday, March 11.

There is intention to have tickets available for purchase for each of the participating teams. Details on tickets will be announced at a later date. “In the past, the PPL Center has provided the student-athletes of District 11 with an outstanding, in some cases, once in a lifetime experience,” said District 11 basketball chariman Ray Kinder of Tamaqua. “To be able to provide the opportunity again to this year’s teams is a great thing, considering all of the adjustments that our communities have had to endure.”

The District 11 committee credited the support of Service Electric and St. Luke’s University Health Network in making the events at the PPL Center possible.

“It goes without saying that our partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network and Service Electric has so much more than meets the eye,” said District 11 chariman Bob Hartman of Whitehall. “Their perseverance in making this happen with the leadership at PPL Center will be a highlight and memory that our student-athletes will not forget.”
