Baby food distribution

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. John XXIII Parish, 307 Pine St., distributes free baby food and cereal on the third Saturday of each month by appointment. The distribution continues to be done as a curbside pickup outside the church hall due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

This ministry is for families with babies living within the Tamaqua Area School District or belonging to the parish.

Stage 1 and 2 baby food and cereal will be provided each month for babies from birth to 1 year. The distribution is from 9-11 a.m. each month, and registration is required by the Wednesday prior to distribution.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewistown Valley.

Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m. and evening praise and sharing at 6:30 p.m. Souper Bowl Sunday has been rescheduled for this week, Feb. 14. Please bring current-dated soup cans or soup mix to be presented for Mission Outreach.

There will be no Wednesday evening prayer and praise on Feb. 17 so folks can attend Lenten services at McKeansburg Christ Church. Lenten service will be held at Calvary on Feb. 24. Hymn sing beginning at 7:15, with service beginning at 7:30 p.m.

St. John Lutheran

St. John Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, will hold morning worship at 9:15 a.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m. Everyone is required to wear a mask.

Confirmation class will follow the worship service.
