Two face felony charges in Schuylkill burglary

Two Schuylkill Haven men face felony charges of burglary and robbery, among others, after an incident in the borough Jan. 12.

Schuylkill Haven borough police charged the father and son with entering a building in the 200 block of East Main Street, demanding money and removing items from the property.

Ryan Ganter, 41, is charged with robbery, threatening immediate serious injury, criminal trespass breaking into a structure, theft by unlawful taking and burglary-overnight accommodations person present.

He is in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $2,500 bail.

Kalyb Ganter is charged with robbery-taking property from another with force, theft by unlawful taking-movable property, criminal trespass breaking into structure and burglary-overnight accommodations person present. Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.

Both men have preliminary hearings scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Feb. 23 in front of Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier, Orwigsburg.

Police say charges stem from an incident when the men entered an East Main Street residence and demanded money from two men, saying they had not repaid money. Ryan Ganter, who appeared to be under the influence of controlled substance, held a knife and was threatening the men, police said. Ryan Ganter took a WiFi modem when not paid, documents show. Kalyb “grabbed” an Xbox controller and HDMI cable before leaving.
