A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges in Northampton County stemming from a crash.

State police at Bethlehem said the crash occurred at 2:26 a.m. on Jan. 24 along Route 378 in Bethlehem.

Troopers said Lucas D. Faith, 28, of Mahanoy Plane, was driving a 2018 Lincoln MKT northbound on the ramp toward Route 22 westbound when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve due to excessive speed and being distracted.

The car left the travel lane, struck the center median barrier and slid about 200 feet across both lanes, coming to rest along the north berm.

Troopers said Faith punched his passenger, a 36-year-old Allentown woman, in the face and ran away. The woman refused medical treatment. The vehicle was towed.

Faith is facing charges for the crash and also a count of harassment - physical contact.
