Fern Ridge police report on crashes resulting from storm

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers, all occurring on Jan. 26:

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 3:35 p.m. along Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Brian C. Musselman, 30, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2004 Acura northbound in a snowstorm when he failed to negotiate a slight left curve. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a residence. No one was injured.

Troopers said it was learned that Musselman had an expired learners permit and no valid insurance on the vehicle. He was cited for five motor vehicle code violations.

• A hit-and-run crash was reported at 10:48 p.m. along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Cassandra I. Weber, 27, of Washington, D.C., was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette eastbound when the vehicle went onto the berm causing her to lose control and the vehicle hit a mile marker. The vehicle then hit an embankment and traveled back onto the road. The vehicle came to rest on the road.

Weber got out of the vehicle and it was then struck by a tractor-trailer rig. The truck driver never stopped and continued eastbound.

Weber was not injured but the vehicle was towed. She was cited for the crash.

• Another crash occurred at 11:47 a.m. along Route 715 in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Arthur W. Anwander, 76, of Effort, was southbound driving a 2010 Subaru Outback while Larry G. Bisbing, 52, of Reeders, was northbound driving a 2016 International dump truck with plow attached. The Subaru slid on the snow covered road into the plow of the truck. No one was injured.

The Subaru sustained heavy damages to the front end passenger side and had to be towed. The truck had no damages.

• A crash occurred at 4:44 p.m. along Bartonsville Woods Road in Jackson Township. Jeremy T. Hartenfels, 23, of East Stroudsburg, was eastbound and due to winter road conditions, lost control of his vehicle. The back end of the vehicle slid off the road and hit a tree and came to rest.

Hartenfels was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. The vehicle was towed.
