Additional cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed among Schuylkill County employees and inmates.

Heidi Zula, human resources director, said four county employees recently tested positive and are in quarantine. Contact tracing has been done resulting in two additional employees exposed and in quarantine.

Seven employees previously in quarantine have since returned to work.

As of today, at the prison two employees have COVID-19. Fourteen inmates have it.

The county prison continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19. Steps are being taken to ensure the safety of staff, inmates and public.
