Mahoning Twp. chairman asks for more time to review documents before meetings

A Mahoning Township official has asked for more time to review documents that are submitted before meetings.

Supervisors’ Chairman Bruce Steigerwalt said at last week’s meeting that he was “becoming overwhelmed” due to the large number of requests coming in to the board recently.

To address this, Steigerwalt has proposed a new deadline for submissions to meetings.

He said that all documents to be reviewed could be submitted about a week before the board’s meetings.

That way, the board would have adequate time to read over proposals, and could form sound opinions before the meeting.

The board will look at the potential adoption of a resolution that would require information to be submitted at least a week before board meetings.

Also at that meeting, the board discussed the potential purchase of new police vehicles.

After some discussion, the matter was tabled.
