State police at Lehighton reported a one-vehicle crash at 5:14 p.m. on Jan. 9 on Weir Mountain Road in Eldred Township.

Troopers said Anthony O. Palermo, 72, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2018 Ford Escape when he lost control on a left hand curve and went into a culvert. The SUV came to final rest near a driveway at 189 Weir Mountain Road.

Palermo was not injured but his vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and had to be towed.
