State police at Frackville report on thefts, other incidents

State police at Frackville reported on the following incidents:

• Two men have been charged with burglary and related counts for an incident on Dec. 26, 2020.

Troopers said a residence in the 400 block of South Kennedy Drive in McAdoo was broken into and removed was a large sum of cash, trading cards, two 22-caliber rifles and multiple other items. As the result of an investigation two suspects were located on Dec. 28, 2020.

Robert Card, 57, of McAdoo, and Brian Durant, 43, of Hazleton, were charged, arraigned before on-call District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $50,000 bail.

• Troopers also reported the arrest of Enmanuel Castillo Mejia, 25, of McAdoo, for harassment - physical contact. Troopers said the incident occurred on Jan. 1 at 5 a.m. along West Blaine Street in McAdoo. Mejia is accused of grabbing the hair and pushing to the ground a 23-year-old woman from McAdoo.

• An teenage girl from Tamaqua was cited for alcohol consumption.

State police at Frackville said Leah Sharer, 18, was cited following an incident on Jan. 1 at 3:11 a.m. at a residence along Lewis Street in Schuylkill Township. She was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville, after consuming vodka. The citation was for underage consumption of alcohol.

• A 34-year-old woman from Kimber Street in New Philadelphia, reported a package was taken from her residence sometime between midnight on Dec. 30 and 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2020. The package contained a youth jacket valued at $30.

• A 58-year-old female from North Line Street, Girardville, reported sometime in the night of Dec. 28 someone reached into her kitchen window and stole a gift check and a notepad from the kitchen table.
