Hybrid classes will not resume on Monday in the Pleasant Valley School District. Classes will be held online through this week for all students and will resume in-person on Jan. 11.
Superintendent Lee Lesisko sent out a notification to parents on Saturday that classes for the elementary and intermediate students would not be able to resume in-person on Monday. There are too many staff members who will be out with COVID-19 for classes to be held in person.
Three teachers at the elementary school and seven teachers at the intermediate school have reported symptoms of COVID-19, he said.
“If your son or daughter is experiencing COVID symptoms, please contact building administration,” Lesisko said. “This will provide an accurate number of possible COVID cases and will help us to plan for returning to a hybrid learning model.”
Students in the high school and middle school were already slated for full remote learning this week, due to COVID-19. The plan is for them also to return to the hybrid model on Jan. 11.
