Smith achieves scholar designation

Caitlin Smith, a senior at Tamaqua High School, has achieved the designation of College Board National Recognition Program Rural and Small-Town Scholar for 2020-2021. The honor is given to students who take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and score in the top 2.5%. Students must also have a GPA of 3.5 or higher by the middle of their junior year.

Caitlin is the daughter of Kerry and Tara Smith of Hometown. She is the granddaughter of Nicholas and Irene Trubilla, also of Hometown; Raymond Smith of Lehighton; and Donna Smith of Palmerton.
